Create an Offset of a Shape

  1. In CADFusion, select the Home tab.
  2. In the Modify group, select Offset. The Offset operation comes into view in the Properties pane.
  3. In the Properties pane, type the value that you want to use for the Rounding angle. Then press Enter.
  4. For information about the Rounding angle property, how CADFusion applies it, and the values you can specify, refer to How CADFusion Applies Rounding Angles to Outside Corners.
  5. In your project, click one of the lines of the shape for which you want to apply the offset.
  6. If you select an open shape, move the mouse to one of the sides of the shape to create the offset that you want. Then click again to complete it.
  7. If you select a closed shape, do one of the following:

Examples of Offsets

To see the results for typical values of 0°, 90°, and 180° rounding angles and specified distances for inward and outward offsets, refer to the examples that follow. Each example shows a shape with different rounding angles and offset distances applied. Before these values are applied, the shape will show as follows.
